NEW YORK, NEW YORK (August 23, 2023) – The world of fashion is about to witness a remarkable moment as the first-ever Polish Fashion Designers (PFD) graces America’s fashion capital, New York City, during the prestigious New York Fashion Week September 2023 season. This groundbreaking event aims to celebrate and elevate the creative brilliance of Polish fashion designers on the global stage.
Taking place on September 9, 2023, the Polish Fashion Designers event promises an unforgettable experience at the historic Joseph Raphael De Lamar House, the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in New York, located at 233 Madison Avenue. This exquisite venue will set the scene for an evening of elegance, innovation, and artistic expression as eight leading Polish designers and brands present their Spring-Summer 2024 collections.
As an international fashion platform, PFD is dedicated to promoting Polish designers and fashion brands, transcending borders, and bridging cultures. This high-standard fashion show serves as a meeting point for industry professionals, media representatives, and fashion enthusiasts, fostering connections that propel Polish fashion onto the global radar.
“We decided that it was high time for Polish designers to appear on the world's catwalks in a setting worthy of their talent. Polish Fashion Designers was established precisely to pave the way to the most important representatives of the fashion industry in the world - and where can you do it better than in New York during Fashion Week - when the greatest will present their new collections,” explains Magdalena Christofi.
Christofi continues, “we wanted to involve Polish partners in the project, to whom we give space to present themselves in front of an international group of NYFW guests. We have established cooperation with the Polish Consulate in New York and the Polish Investment and Trade Agency.”
“Among our designers we have well-known and respected names, but we also focus on new ones unknown to the wider public. This is just the beginning of our discoveries. In the starting blocks we already have a new generation from design schools from Łódź, Warsaw and Kraków,” adds Katarzyna Wojtera.
Supported by the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland, this year's PFD edition is poised to deliver an unparalleled experience, unveiling the Spring-Summer 2024 collections that encapsulate the essence of Polish creativity, craftsmanship, and innovation. Through an evening of runway presentations, the showcase will spotlight the transformative power of fashion as it blends tradition and contemporary aesthetics.
